Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Direct Sourcing Lead to join our team. The Direct Sourcing Lead will be responsible for managing and optimizing our direct sourcing strategies to ensure the consistent supply of high-quality agricultural commodities. This role requires a deep understanding of the agricultural supply chain, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement direct sourcing strategies to secure a reliable supply of agricultural commodities.
• Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure high-quality and cost-effective sourcing.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
• Monitor market trends, supply conditions, and pricing to make informed sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate with internal/sourcing teams including logistics, safety, quality control, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies.
• Manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual terms.
• Conduct regular supplier assessments and audits to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers and sourcing activities.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sourcing performance and market conditions.
• Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure compliance with sourcing policies and standards.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct sourcing or procurement, preferably within the agricultural commodities industry.
• Strong understanding of the agricultural supply chain and market dynamics.
• Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and relationship management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and supply chain management software.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
